Lane County Commissioners Pete Sorenson and Rob Handy, along with Eugene Mayor Kitty Piercy, invite the community to learn more about food security issues in Lane County. This will be the second in a series of town halls on this subject.
Who: Lynne Fessenden, Executive Director of Willamette Farm and Food Coalition; Mary Wood, Faculty Director of the Environmental and Natural Resources Law Program at the University of Oregon School of Law; Jabrila Via, Co-Owner of Winter Green Farm; and Jason Bradford, Managing Director of Vital Farmland LP, will discuss sustainable agriculture, climate change and peak oil and how they impact food security in Lane County.
The subject of food security encompasses many areas. This town hall will focus on agriculture, climate change and peak oil. The community meeting includes discussion from hosts and expert panelists. The floor will then be opened up to the community for questions and comments.
