Just got an email from the City of Eugene that the Common Ground Garden has been awarded a $6,113 grant! As you may recall, this will allow us to put in an irrigation system, build an icosa hut style tool shed, purchase tools, soil amendments, a worm composting system and more. Thanks everyone that pitched in on the grant application and pledged volunteer hours!

Hi All…
I talked with Jan at CAT/Center for Appropriate Transport in the Whiteaker on Saturday, and guess what? They also got a matching grant last week. They want to link up with us to utilize their grant’s project: they’re building a MOBIL, >bike-transported< CANNERY for local crops ON-SITE! To get the population through the winters to come, at low carbon energy input. Soo, he’s looking forward to working with us to can our coming crops! Lets plan on this for on-site next fall, with media on hand! This is such a compliment for us. Yeah!
